The Cami de Ronda - Torre Valentina to Platja d'Aro.

Updated: Jun 12, 2022

Just 3.5 km from Casa Cal Domino, there is probably the best short walk along the Cami de Ronda (coastal path) located between Torre Valentina and Platja d'Aro. The Costa Brava is famous for this ragged wild coastline and little sandy secluded calas having (thankfully) avoided the worst of the 1970's mass tourism resorts and rampant concrete constructions. We recommend starting late morning, hiking the path, having a long lazy lunch in Platja d'Aro and then walking back again. This route follows the old smugglers tracks and hugs the coast so comfortable footwear is recommended to cope with wild paths and sandy beaches.

Round trip: 2 hrs plus lunch.

Difficulty: Easy

Distance: 7.5km

Out of season, there should be no problem finding a parking space close to Torre Valentina.... We recommend parking here. It's a well signed GR 92 trail (red and white marker) and when you get to Playa d'Aro, you'll find dozens of bars and restaurants on the sea front or take a picnic !.

From May to September the sea is warm enough to swim, so bring a cozzie (or not at Roques Blanes - Naturist zone) and go for a dip to cool off. All through the year, the sun can be hot enough to burn, so remember the sun cream... even in February ! This is suitable for children but with some steps and a well maintained but natural trail, not suitable for anybody with mobility issues.

The route can be followed here via Wikiloc.
